# FLOOR The FLOOR token can be used as a pure [governance token](/dao/governance.md) by locking it for voting power. This voting power (called "Sweep Power") allows holders to influence all of FloorDAO's onchain votes and is used as a way to signal preferences in offchain voting mechanisms such as Snapshot.org. The FLOOR token does not provide a claim on the treasury and offchain votes are non-binding, meaning that the multi-sig ultimately decides proposals are enacted.
